Random Pics That Have No Flow From The Past 2 Months

HELLO!!!

I wanted to get a couple of pictures up on the blog since it seem like forever since I've posted something. I can't post everything we've been doing for the past 2 months b/c that would be the longest blog post ever, but here's a snap shot...

Reagan and I went out to breakfast with a friend who recently had her first baby.  Reagan and I had to fight over who got to hold him!

I know putting kids in the basket of grocery carts is not the safest thing, but we'll do anything to keep the girls from running around the store.

They have lots of fun sitting together and helping us pick out groceries.

Ruthie is involved in something this year called American Heritage Girls.  It's like Girl Scouts for christians.  I'm ashamed to say we missed the meetings for the past 2 months due to scheduling conflicts, but starting this month we are back in the swing of things.  This is a picture of Ruthie with her leader.

Miss Reagan celebrated her 3rd birthday on December 27th.  The poor girl was terribly sick.  I had to take her to the Urgent Care in Fairfield b/c we were visiting my parents.

This was Reagan the other night.  Brendan told her it was time to go to bed and she ran and hid under my desk.  That girl does not like to go to bed!!

I caught her hiding in the corner of her room cutting up her sister's picture from school that she colored.  Stinker!!!

I bet you're wondering what George has been up too...not a whole lot!

George heard mice running around above the fridge so he camped himself on top of it in hopes of making a catch.  It was pretty funny to see him jump up and try and touch the ceiling.

I think we are about to get our first real winter storm around here!  That means I better pack an extra bag of clothes in case I get stuck at the hospital this weekend.  :)

While Mommy's Working

Frequently while I'm at work, Brendan will send me pictures of the girls to let me know what they're up to. Lately if I'm not slammed at work we even do a quick Facetime session so I can say goodnight to the girls.

One night last week Reagan apparently hurt her lip.  All she needed was an ice pack and some snuggle time with her Sissy to feel better!

Another night, B took the girls out for ice cream.

One night they found a caterpillar.

Surprisingly the caterpillar survived its encounter with the girls.  Usually these creatures of nature have an untimely death due to one of my girls "loving" it to death!

Reagan is a wild woman when she sleeps.  You can see in this picture that her diaper is not attached on one side.  We usually put her in pull ups, but I ran out.  I told Reagan not to take her diaper off, but the temptation was too strong.  That morning she woke Brendan up by handing him her diaper.  

Now that's a way to wake up!  hahaha

This week was Ruthie's birthday.  I'll be doing another post on that later.  I had a free sundae coupon from Graeter's for my birthday, so the girls and I enjoyed a lunch treat.  That sundae was gone in probably less than 15 minutes.  YUM!!

The night before Ruthie's 6th birthday, she got her ears pierced!!!  She did wonderful and the earrings look super cute on her.

I think this photo is just funny of George.  I usually put our dirty dishes in this bucket, but George decided it was the perfect size for him to take a nap in.  That's a pretty big yawn!

And last but not least, while I was sleeping today, Brendan used our last sushi coupon at one of our favorite restaurants.  While he was waiting for the order, he took my iPad so the girls could watch Tangled.  

AKA-The girls could stay out of trouble by not rough housing in the restaurant.

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

So today is my BIRFDAY!!!

It was a great day.  I went to yoga class to start the day off right.  After Ruthie got home from school it was time for a nap.  I love taking naps the older I get.  Once the girls woke up we ran a bunch of errands and then came home for my birthday dinner.  On the menu: tilapia, baked potatoes, and broccoli.  Yum!

Dessert was tiramisu and a chocolate brownie thing.

Next up, it was time for gifts!  Ruthie could barely contain herself.  As many of you know, I LOVE Christmas ornaments.  Well, my birthday this year was the year of the ornaments.  Ruthie picked out all of these.  

The pink, glittery, high-heeled shoe ornament was her favorite.  That girls loves high heels!!  She frequently asks me why I don't wear high heels.  Ummm, I'm a nurse honey.  I wear unflattering scrubs and white, dorky shoes to work. :)

The best part of my birthday...going to the mall to shop FOR myself, BY myself.  The only bummer was that I didn't have enough time to run to all the stores I wanted to.  It was fun using my birthday money from my family to buy new clothes.  I need a stylist and an endless supply of cash and then maybe I won't look like a frumpy mom!!  hahaha

Wow!!

Has it been almost 2 months??!!! I don't think that has ever happened in the almost 3 years I have been blogging. I was really bogged down with school, work, and trying to be a wife and mom. I have since decided that I need to ease up on school and focus on my family. I love having free time again!!


I was going to do a recap post, but realized we haven't had much family time because I work mainly weekends.  I typically get pictures like this from Brendan when I work.

I love seeing the girls sleep.

It is my nightly ritual to tuck them in before I go to bed so I miss that when I'm at work.

This is just a funny picture of Reagan at daycare.  Apparently she loves wearing the dinosaur costume while she's there.

This is a great picture of Reagan being defiant.  One night while I was at work Brendan made dinner for the kids and Reagan wasn't having it.  Brendan told Reagan there was nothing else for dinner.  While he went upstairs, Reagan took it upon herself to pour a bowl of cereal and subsequently eat it underneath the table.  She was trying to hide of course.  Gotcha!!!

I had to work the day of our 8th wedding anniversary, so Brendan took a picture of Ruthie holding our anniversary flowers and sent it to me at work.  :)

And what's a post without pictures of George.  He has been lounging around as usual.

For some reason he has become very snuggly over the past couple of weeks.

I don't mind it.  

Well, I look forward to posting more frequently now that I've got more free time.  This time of year is my FAVORITE so I know I will have lots to share!!

Life Is Good!

I'm not quite sure how three weeks have passed since my last blog post, but they have.  

We have been spending many evenings playing outside blowing bubbles...

riding bikes...

and eating popcorn.

One afternoon the girls and I went through Ruthie's size 6 clothing bin.  We have been given SOOOO many clothes by friends that I have not had to buy one thing for her.  This is Ruthie's new favorite dress!

This picture would have been even better if I could say it was taken at the beach, but sadly it was not.  We headed to our local playground one morning to play in the sand. 

Last week we moved Reagan into a big girl bed.  She has done wonderfully!!  Here she is talking on the phone to her Memaw telling her about her new bed.  This is the first time in 6 years a crib has not been up in our house.  Crazy!!!

Last week Ruthie found out her kindergarten teacher is going to be Mrs. Stein.

Ruthie is super excited about starting school.  She has been counting down the days.  Two more to go!!

Thursday was her last day at preschool so we gave her teachers some gifts.

Now that I have basically done a picture show of the past 3 weeks, I must go and study for my EKG class at the hospital Monday.  My learning as a nurse never stops!!
